Overview

Clear aligners are customer, transparent, removable dental trays used to straighten teeth. They are an alternative to traditional metal braces.

How they work

We take a 3D scan of your teeth, and show you what your future smile could look like.

Once you are happy with the result, a series of custom-made aligners are created.

Your clear aligners are fitted 2-3 weeks later! Each aligner is worn 22 hours/day and applies gentle pressure to gradually move teeth into better alignment.

You typically switch to a new set every 1–2 weeks.

Clear Aligners – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Clear aligners are transparent, removable trays designed to straighten teeth gradually. They are custom-made to fit your mouth and are an effective, discreet alternative to traditional braces.

Using 3D digital scans, a series of aligners is created. Each set applies gentle pressure to move specific teeth over time. You wear a new set every 1–2 weeks until your smile reaches the planned result.

Clear aligners can correct:

  • Crowded teeth
  • Gaps or spacing
  • Overbite / Underbite (mild–moderate)
  • Crossbite
  • General misalignment

Treatment typically lasts 6–18 months, depending on case complexity and patient compliance. Minor cosmetic tweaks may take as little as 3–6 months.

Most patients experience mild pressure or soreness when starting a new set. This is normal and usually resolves within a day or two.

For the best results, wear aligners 22 hours a day. Only remove them to eat, drink anything besides water, and brush/floss.

You should remove aligners before eating or drinking anything except water. Food can damage them, and coloured drinks can stain them.

  • Rinse with lukewarm water
  • Brush gently with a soft toothbrush
  • Use recommended cleaning crystals, tablets, or aligner cleaning pod.
  • Avoid hot water, which can warp the trays.

A slight lisp is common during the first few days, but most people adapt quickly and speak normally within a week.
